Facebook will soon support passkeys on mobile.
You’ll be able to use your fingerprint, face, or PIN instead of typing a password to login to Facebook.
Meta says this update makes sign‑in faster and more secure.

Now, what is a passkey?
A passkey is a secure digital key. It uses the fingerprint, face scan (i.e. biometrics) or screen PIN you already use to unlock your phone.
How passkeys keep your account safe?
Passkeys are stored only on your device. That way, it minimizes the risk of being stolen or misused. Passkeys are also immune to phishing and password attacks.
Meta cannot access or store your biometric data/PIN.
How to set up your passkey
Open Settings in the Facebook app. Go to Accounts Center → Password & security → Passkeys. Then follow the simple on‑screen prompts.

What else you can do with your passkey
Beyond logging into Facebook, you’ll be able to autofill payments using Meta Pay. And soon, the same passkey will work for Messenger and encrypted message backups.
What to expect in the rollout
Passkeys are currently available on iOS and Android Facebook apps.
Support is coming soon to Messenger.
The same passkey works across both apps.
You can still log in with your password, two‑factor code or a physical security key. Passkeys are optional and add more choice.
