
TikTok has shared U.S. figures on how well TikTok Shop is doing.
The latest report shows impressive growth in the US:
- 70 million products
- across 750 categories
- and U.S. sales are up 120% compared to last year
According to GlobalData and TikTok, 83% of shoppers discovered a new product on TikTok Shop. And that users clocked over 8 million hours shopping live in 2024.
These reports come amid uncertainities of its future in the country with Trump extending TikTok sale deadline again by 90 days.
Focus on discovery and small businesses
TikTok says it designed Shop so people can discover products while scrolling videos. Users see products in videos or livestreams, ask questions, and get a real sense of how things work.
There are 171,000 small and local businesses on TikTok Shop in the U.S. Sales for these sellers grew 70% year‑over‑year.
More than a third of all U.S. purchases on TikTok Shop go to small businesses.
New seller programs
TikTok also announced tools to help sellers:
- An A.C.E. framework—Assortment, Content, Empowerment—to guide sellers in reaching shoppers
- A “Deals for You Days” event from July 7 to 19. It offers discounts up to 50% from brands like Crocs, Philips, Fenty Beauty, Briogeo.
- TikTok also introduced a new feature called LIVE Price Match Guaranteed. During live shopping sessions, if shoppers find the same product priced lower on other eligible U.S. sites, TikTok will match the price in real time.
Acoording to TikTok, these updates will help both buyers and businesses as more shopping happens in-app.
